The uprising you see in Atlanta is also largely economic.
You got middle class, comfortable Black people bragging about "Black Mecca" while other Black people are driving for UBER and working at Peremiter Mall to make ends meet.

Most people claiming love for Atlanta are transplants. Who love seeing all the Blackness. But never stop to notice that locals are pushed into low wage jobs while "Black excellence" moves into the gentrified areas of the city.

I got roots here. And I can't even live in the city limits because the same neighborhoods my grandma, mom, and great aunts lived in are now overrun with middle class Black and white millennials who can afford to buy a house or pay 1600 dollars for a 1 bedroom apartment.
With all this city development comes income inequality. Which brings what? Police brutality.
Which brings what?
Uprisings.
So sit with that before you claim "Atlanta's is so perfect, why are they protesting there?"
That's why.

Battles for racial and economic justice in predominately Black cities with Black leadership? That will always be a battle between respectable Black people who think nothing is wrong, and working class Black people who know what it really is.
One more thing: people asking what's being done are showing their ignorance. Very purposeful, powerful grassroots organizations do WORK in ATL. But they're led by Black Queer people. And we know how homophobia works in Black movements. 🙃
