Could @LibDemLords / @LibDems / @OpenRightsGroup please tell Lord Clement-Jones that #AgeVerification was "kicked into the long grass" by British Civil Society as being illiberal & misconceived; and that the "pornography industry" were embracing it?

I speak as a lead striker for one of the teams which is responsible for putting #AgeVerification into "the long grass", viz @OpenRightsGroup

Oh, and in case Lord Clement-Jones (or fellow peers) wants to understand *why* the "porn industry" would be embracing #AgeVerification, the answer is: regulatory capture leading to mandated, deeper "user-ownership" and consequently increased revenues.
In summary: mandatory #AgeVerification would vault the "porn industry" — notably MindGeek — into the same "everybody has an account" space as Facebook, at a time after #CambridgeAnalytica when HMG should be *wary* of creating more & vulnerable "data silos" of sensitive data.
