I was reluctant to do an online version of GLTS but @GriffLightning & @patrickcotnoir convinced me that doing a #StarWarsDay show would cheer some ppl up during covid-19, and once we realized we could raise some money to help ppl, that made me feel like it was worth doing...
The watchathons have sort of helped us figure out what an online version of GLTS can be, hopefully. They will serve as a very strange bridge from the old ways (on stage at UCB) to the new (isolated in different cities via PlanetScum.live)....
I think having @patrickcotnoir on screen is one happy development that would not have happened if the show had just carried on as a stage show; he would have never let us put the spotlight on him, but now I think not including him would be unthinkable. Here is a photo of him:

Anyway, from 2014 to this past March, I have generally favored keeping GLTS as an in the room, "you had to be there"-type experience, which is why I resisted making it into a podcast or anything that would be archived online. But circumstances have changed, so we gotta adapt.
