I want Earth's climate to be the way it:

Opt 1, leave it the way it is. Requires us to reach carbon neutral. The climate is prone to storms & more warming. It's activated the first set, some of the second set tipping elements, & Arctic Winter sea-ice and permafrost due to local warming. doi.org/10.1073/pnas.1…

Option 2, requires us to reach carbon neutral (aka stop emitting ghgs) & remove some of the cumulative carbon in the atmosphere. Some climate models show this is roughly a target of holding below 1.5ºC.

Option 3, requires us to reach carbon neutral (aka stop emitting ghgs) & remove more of the cumulative carbon in the atmosphere. Other climate models show this is roughly a target of holding well below 1.5ºC.

Opt 4, requires us to reach carbon neutral & remove all of the cumulative human emitted carbon. This would return the climate to 0ºC of warming. It would also allow the most biodiversity (if not already extinct) to return. It is true climate justice and equality.

Option 4 is deemed so difficult to accomplish by 2100 it's not studied in a full Atmosphere-Ocean General Circulation Model. Since it's not studied, it's not a recommendable option by the UN IPCC.

I studied opt 4 bit.ly/cdrmexprj & found if we remove all human emitted carbon & stop emitting all Ghgs (except NH3), we hit 0ºC by 2100, assuming we don't hit more tipping elements by starting CDR. MAGICC isn't calibrated for vast CDR. The exps must be rerun on an AOGCM.

Each option adds more CDR after going carbon neutral. They progressively require more creativity, innovation, R&D in non-fossil fuel based energy, efficiency improvements to heat processing for concrete & steel creation, & chemicals processing to accomplish. All create $$$ jobs.

Since this is a global necessity to reach carbon neutral & do CDR, we'll have financial investment opportunities. All of these activities will create more jobs and grow the green carbon tech economy. By working in these areas you will help us reach climate justice and equality.

Don't fall pray to the short sided idea that fossil fuel jobs and the comfort of having a car or truck today is worth the price of generations not able to eat. This argument is even more absurd when we can innovate and create more jobs if we start now. carbonbrief.org/guest-post-cos…

The window to stop hitting more tipping elements and stop pushing Earth's climate to unstable warming is closing. If we wait too long, it will be so expensive, humans won't even attempt to undo the catastrophe.

Also, the El Niño of 1982, known as a super El Niño. Returning to the climate of about 1984 would still leave Earth susceptible to increased super El Niño events: washingtonpost.com/weather/2019/1… & is highly likely 3-5 ºC of local warming over and in Pacific ocean.
