Restoration of 4G in J&K: Centre, UT admin inform the #SupremeCourt that the special committee has been set up in accordance with the directions of the court.
SG Tushar Mehta submits that the Committee has also taken a decision regarding 4G, and asks for a week to place an affidavit in this regard.
Court asks him whether all this is in public domain.
Sr adv Huzefa Ahmadi, for the contempt applicant, points out the complaint is that they aren't responding to representations being filed against continued suspension of 4G services, orders aren't being published so how can one challenge it before a court.
AG KK Venugopa says no contempt is made out since the committee is already formed & orders of suspension are issued after due application of mind.
AG claims incidents of terrorism are on the rise.
Ahmadi counters this by citing a statement by HM Amit Shah dated May 31.
Ahmadi cites Shah's interview that purportedly said terrorism is on its lowest since 1990, after abrogation of #Article 370.
He also refers to an article by Ram Madhav, one of the interlocutors in J&K, suggesting it is time to lift many restrictions.
#SupremeCourt gives Centre, J&K one week to file affidavit on the aspects of the review committee.
