Main objective of Atal Mission for Rejuvenation & Urban Transformation #AMRUT is to create infrastructure to provide Ease of Living to citizens. @amrut_MoHUA invests in basic civic amenities of drinking water, septage/sewerage, urban transport, parks, etc.

These significantly improve the quality of life for all.

Projects under various components of #AMRUT are being undertaken in 500 identified cities & towns whose 2011 census population is over one lakh or they are capital/ important tourist, river-side or island cities.

One of the components of #AMRUT is development of Parks & Green Spaces. They provide recreation and community connect all ability facilities and are important centres for getting together or exercises for children, women & men of all age groups.

With facilities like open gyms, parks under #AMRUT attracts citizens in abundance for various activities.

Kanch Mill Parks, MP have been developed on an 8,900 sq.m. area & designed with children & elderly centric features & benefits citizens from over 4,100 households.

In Ajmer, green space development works were taken up in three phases & have been completed. The parks are installed with children friendly equipments as well as pathways & sitting arrangements for elders which serve around 5 lakh citizens in the city.

Maharana Pratap Nagar, Bhopal is blessed with a park developed in Zone 1. Twinkling lights, beautiful fountains & amazing greenery have transformed the place's attraction for citizens of Bhopal.

Panaji Smart City has developed a Broadwalk in the midst of mangroves in the city under #AMRUT. This has become quite popular with citizens and visitors to give them beautiful ecological experience.

So far, 1,601 parks/ green spaces have been completed with expenditure of ₹893 crores and cover around 3,100 acres across 500 mission cities.

Further another 773 projects worth ₹605 crores adding area of around 2,240 acres green spaces in cities are under implementation.
130 more projects worth ₹73 crore are at NIT/DPR stages. Thanks to #AMRIT for this initiative to improve quality of life for the citizens.

I have personally visited many of such parks developed under #AMRUT during my field visits in different cities. In my interaction with local citizens I have been delighted to assess their happiness.

Such all ability facilities have not only made available pleasant green spaces close to community to provide them social connect, exercise, relaxation, yoga, child play etc but also help in conserving precious water.
