++ AlarmPhone alerted to 4 boats off Morocco! ++
Yesterday, 1 small paddle boat with 12 people on board was intercepted to #Morocco. 3 other boats with 63, 32 and 28 people left from the Western Sahara on Saturday, heading toward #CanaryIslands. They still are out at sea!
Spanish air assets are searching for the boats but bad weather makes this a difficult task. The boats face high waves in the waters of the Atlantic. This morning & last night @salvamentogob rescued 2 other boats with 31 & 26 people. We ask for #safepassage for all!
We are still unable to confirm the fate of the 3 boats we were alerted to in the Western Med. @salvamentogob confirmed to us that they rescued a boat with 33 people last night but unfortunately we were unable to confirm this is one of the boats that reached out to us.
Many people are fleeing Morocco at the end of the lockdown and right now there are still several boats out at sea. The crossing to the #CanaryIslands is dangerous, so we hope for the best. Our thanks goes out to @CGTsalvamento for their hard work and cooperation.
BOZA! Two of the boats that reached out to us on 19/07 arrived safely to the Canary Islands! We remain unsure about the fate of the boat of 63 people, the Spanish Guardia civil are still searching for them. We hope for the best. The struggle for freedom of movement continues!
Where are they?
Spanish Guardia Civil confirmed they are still searching for the 63 people who left #Morocco towards the #CanaryIslands already a week ago. We are still waiting and hoping for their rescue and #safepassage for everyone!
