Atal Mission for Rejuvenation & Urban Transformation #AMRUT has proven to be the real nectar (AMRIT) in the lives of citizens across the country.
The scheme lays emphasis on providing the most basic civic amenities in the 500 mission cities.

Most important component of the scheme is universal water supply. It has ensured water tap connections with 24x7 water supply, improved quality of water, negated the problem of scarcity of water & significantly reduced diseases caused by contaminated water.

Apart from water tap connections, this component undertakes building of overhead tanks in cities & towns with population of over one lakh within the notified area. This has immensely contributed to a healthy & regular supply of water for citizens. #TransformingUrbanLandscape

I am extremely happy to share that from April to June 2020 (Covid-19 period), 1.36 lakh household water tap connections have been done under #AMRUT.
As of now, total 79 lakh water tap connections have been provided across 500 Mission cities.

Household water tap connections are being provided at Etawah, UP since partial relaxation of lockdown from 20 April 2020.
With a project cost of ₹49.58 cr, house service connections have been provided to 21,000 beneficiaries in Bharatpur, Rajasthan with Household metering.

Continuing the trend of #TransformingUrbanLandscape post lockdown & with increased pace of work, Water Supply Scheme of Satna has been completed & commissioned under the mission. This will benefit over 32,000 households on a daily basis with regular supply of Water.

Shirdi Water Supply scheme has provided improved water supply to 50,000 households & better water storage. The balancing tank receiving water from Godavari canal has been made percolation free using 500 micron geo-membrane.

The water supply project in Bankura Municipality of West Bengal has benefitted more than 63,000 households in the area. The Janiveli Project in Berhampur, Odisha has benefited over 67,000 households with 24x7 fresh water supply.

Water source augmentation in Betul has provided 7 metre deep & 183 metre long barrage across the Tapti river which in turn increased the per capita water supply from 30 LPCD to 135 LPCD & provided uninterrupted water supply to 1.03 lakh persons.

So far, 40,252 water supply projects worth ₹18,523 crore have been grounded for construction & a total of 79 lakh water tap connections have been provided in 500 mission cities.

It brings so much of satisfaction in listening to testimonials of beneficiaries whose lives have been significantly changed & improved by availing the benefits of the water supply component of AMRUT. This has contributed in #TransformingUrbanLandscape in an unprecedented manner.
