Atal Mission for Rejuvenation & Urban Transformation #AMRUT aims to strengthen basic civic infrastructure in 500 mission cities. One of the components of #AMRUT is Sewerage & Septage Management which is bringing about improvement in coverage & treatment capacities of sewerage.
The projects include networked underground sewerage systems, sewage treatment plants, rehabilitation of old sewerage systems, treatment plants, recycling & reuse of water, Faecal Sludge Management, mechanical and biological cleaning of sewers. #TransformingUrbanLandscape
This component has significantly improved the reuse of water for beneficial purposes, resolved problems of choked drains & eliminated practices of manual scavenging by the use of modern technology equipment & benefitted citizens across mission cities.

Brahmapuri STP in Jaipur, Rajasthan, completed under #AMRUT with facilities for pumping & decentralized septage management now benefits 31,000 citizens of the area.
35 MLD STP completed in Agara, Karnataka post lockdown is expected to benefit around 2.95 lakh citizens.
In Sehore, MP, Sewerage pipelines, construction of manholes & sewer appurtenances, SSTP & RCC sump well, provision & installation of pumps from sump well to STP, house sewer chambers & laterals for connecting sewer to consumer sewer lines have been done under #AMRUT.
STPs in Rajkot (Madhapar) & Surat (Anjana & Bamroli) have been rejuvenated/ upgraded & collectively benefit more than 4.5 lakh citizens.
The project on Biodigester Manufacturing Unit & Septage has been completed in Aizawl, Assam under #AMRUT.

A 50 MLD STP based on Sequencing Batch Reactors (SBR) technology has been constructed in Karnal. It is equipped with SCADA System for effective management for the entire plant & serves a population of 1.50 lakh citizens.

Provision & improvement of sewerage system has been completed in Firozabad, Puducherry, Shimla & Kathgodam-cum-Haldwani & has collectively benefitted more than 35,000 households across the 4 cities & in turn provided Ease of Living to citizens. #TransformingUrbanLandscape
₹30,613 cr worth of projects have been grounded under Sewerage & Septage Management & 46 lakh sewer connections have been provided across different cities. When completed, total 1.39 crore sewer connections will be provided in mission cities.
