You sound like every other person who fed me that bullshit growing up.
Gaming has had an enormous impact on so many lives. Here’s how it changed mine, I encourage you to share yours.
I used to play video games every day as a means of escaping an abusive household.
Maybe I could’ve helped my parents sell drugs or join in on the fights. I chose to play video games instead.
Was that a waste of time?
I was bullied in school. I would go home and play with my friends online, share stories, I cherish many of our memories as my best ones.
I am still good friends with many of the people I played games with years ago. We still game together.
Was that a waste of time?
Games like Minecraft sparked my interest in learning to code.
I learned to make mods, servers, websites, and games of my own.
I made accompanying videos, websites, and learned editing, design, animation, and learned so many new skills.
Was that a waste of time?
Video games led me down a path of entrepreneurship where I built an entire SaaS analytics platform for Minecraft servers.
Which I sold - and finally escaped Missouri and went to California to pursue my new life.
Was that a waste of time?
I met my now WIFE on Twitch - a platform for watching people play games.
What a waste of time it was watching people play video games, huh? 🙄
Furthermore, any time where you’re enjoying playing a game, is not a waste of time.
In contrast to what I’m saying, I could have achieved nothing from the above and still would argue that just playing video games were some of my best times.
Its not a waste of time.
