Let’s talk about the thin outrage that happens every time we talk about the problems of centering #bodypositivity on a size 6 woman hunched over to the show a stomach fold, blowing up in internet fame, & everyone says, “omg you’re so BRAVE!”

But body positivity is for EVERYONE.

No, body positivity is most certainly NOT for everyone.

Do you know what happens when a fat person posts a picture in the same bikini or maybe is just...existing in a picture online?

They’re sent death threats and told they’re promoting ob*sity.... for literally existing.

Body positivity is mirroring diet culture & white supremacist ideals once again.

So if you’re straight sized & fit society’s beauty ideals, your photo is met with praise. U may even blow up in internet fame for your daily photos of your conventionally attractive body in a bikini

When a fat person posts the same photos & is met with bullying, abuse, & death threats, this is NOT an equal playing field because people in larger bodies are once again seen as less than.

More importantly, they continue not to have equal access to medical care, employment, etc

Does this mean that thin people can’t struggle with body image issues too? Of course not! Thin people struggle with ED’s & body dysmorphia that can feel excruciating. NO ONE wins in a culture that glorifies thinness.

But thin people aren’t also oppressed by society.

Everyone deserves to feel seen. Everyone deserves to be heard. But right now, body positivity mostly only hears thin people & that’s a huge problem because marginalized people need it most.

So if your #bodypositivity excludes fat people & has a size limit? I want no part of that
