The criticisms around the challenge appear when monochromatic picture isn’t exactly saying enough about the story behind the challenge itself; so here I am trying my best to elaborate.

So it all started as a protest against #femicide occurring in Turkey after the killing of Pinar Gutelkin by her boyfriend. It’s a way for us women to raise our voices & stand in solidarity with the women we have lost.

It takes a lot of effort, strength, perseverance, wisdom, patience, intelligence, and grit to come through as the world has always been skewed against us.

But yes, some people suggested that women should share something more fundamental, like some photos of books, articles, products, and promote charities that benefit other women.
