Ousman Darboe, a 26 year old undocumented Black Muslim father from the Bronx, approaches 3 yrs of being detained by ICE at the Bergen County Jail. He was recently denied an opportunity for bond again, despite a medical evaluation that describes the trauma of solitary confinement.

As you may also remember, Mr. & Mrs. F were clients of ours at Karnes. However, days ago Mr. F was transferred to an adult detention facility in Laredo, TX.
ICE has stated that the reason Mr. F will continue to be detained is because he presents a “security risk” if released.
That conclusion being the very definition of systematic Islamophobia that happens on a daily basis in immigrant detention.
