1. Some young Brazilian friends asked me whether there was any right wing intellectual or even smart person. The question makes sense because in Brazil, there isn't. All they have is this: @OdeCarvalho

2. If you take the paranoid magalomania from Olavo de Carvalho @OdeCarvalho , there is not much left. There's no other way to say it: he's at best mediocre in his reading list and horrible at comprehension.

3. The answer to my young friends is yes, there are smart right wing intellectuals. Although their academic work can be challenged with not too much effort, they exist. The best example, I'd say is @JonHaidt.

4. I'd say one of the catch expressions to spot a right wing scholar is evolutionary psychology. As a field, evolutionary psychology has been rejected both by psychology and by evolutionary biology. They are well funded.

5. Another "RW detector" is the scholar's position concerning the so-called "intellectual dark web", which is neither intellectual, nor dar, nor web.
