My inbox is a dumpster fire 🔥📪🔥

It is a never-ending nightmare that haunts my dreams, with 200-400 new emails streaming in 24/7 ✉️✉️✉️

It’s easily my #1 source of stress 🤦🏼

I’ve tried all sorts of stuff to make it better...

Cool new email apps, fancy workflows and systems.

Nothing has worked.

I was talking to an older friend of mine and asked “what did you do when all this was paper mail? I can’t even imagine”...

“You’d get a huge pile of mail once or twice a day. You’d respond to it, then get on with your day. No new mail until tomorrow morning the Mailman comes”

I realized I was doing it wrong...

I lived in my inbox and checked it constantly, seeing it stream in live and responding throughout the day.

In reality, very few emails needed to be responded to live, and most could wait 24-48 hours...

So I tweeted looking for something that would do exactly that: only let in emails a couple times a day:

The Don Draper inbox.

Nothing great existed, so I said screw it and decided to built it myself...

I teamed up with my friend @mohitmamoria and we built something awesome.

It’s called Mailman.

It’s kind of like a firewall for your inbox, making it calmer and freeing up time for you to be more focused and productive...

Here’s what it does:

1. Lets you set delivery times (example: 9AM, 11AM, 2PM, etc) through the day so you have gaps without email.

2. Lets you set a Do Not Disturb time. For example: let’s say you want to forget about work from 4pm to 7am...

3. Creates a daily digest of all the newsletters, social notifications, and emails from people you don’t know and lets you decide who gets in and who you never want to hear from again.

4. Only blocks and delays less important stuff. You can create a VIP list that comes in live.

We’ve been testing it for a few months and I’m happy to report that it has made my inbox infinitely calmer and reduced my stress level significantly ❤️📪❤️
