#KYFreedoms school proposal if districts opt for virtual/NTI learning only.

Since teachers would be given the ability to work from home or potentially not at all in some cases, principles should require teachers be present at the school even though students will not be. 1/5

State employees & private sector employees across the state are going to work, safely social distancing & are expected to meet their full obligations as professionals. KEA members especially should as well since the union is advocating for no in-person classes. 2/5

With no students present in school, health fears of teachers can be mitigated. They can socially distance & utilize their classrooms for virtual learning much better than they could at home. It will provide students some form of normality & a sense of legitimacy. 3/5

More than reasonable given that parents will already be struggling to find childcare to work, & since teachers are paid regardless. It also ensures districts continuing to receive funding - despite delivering a lower quality service (as opposed to on-person schooling)...4/5

...are making the most of the situation. Providing a familiar setting for kids who need it. Taking advantage of further continued learning for teachers, and putting to use the school itself.

Reasonable? Chime in and retweet #KYFreedom 5/5
