“The spread of coronavirus could have been slowed with earlier quarantine restrictions on arrivals, & lack of border measures earlier in the pandemic was a "serious mistake”.
This was obvious from Day 1.
Were this another political decision dressed-up in science?
@piersmorgan👇
Was it scientific advice:
* not to screen flight arrivals?
* to transfer people from hospitals to care homes without testing?
* not to ban big gatherings?
* to ignore modelling that warned of huge fatalities?
These decisions clearly defied all logic

The answer lies in the SAGE minutes from 5 March - the first attended by Cummings.
In that meeting, the advice from previous meetings: e.g. “sustained community transmission was underway” & the need for "early measures" to protect vulnerable were ignored.
https://t.co/US76yN0Iti
The obvious reason #Cummings was at that meeting was because it was the one where decisions affecting policy would be made
All but 2 of the scientists there were the ones defending govt decisions at No.10 press conferences
Crucially, Ben Warner & David Halpern were also there.
SAGE advised lockdown on 13 March.
Lockdown only happened 11 days later, on 24 March!
Did the govt REALLY stick to the advice “like glue”? @neil_ferguson @JeremyFarrar @PeterHorby @d_spiegel @GrahamMedley @DrBrookeRogers @wendybarclay11 @tweediechap @vkatikireddi @ChiefVetUK
We know the govt ignored the advice of their own behavioural scientist group (SPI-B), when it came to the concept of #LockdownFatigue
The idea - supported by Halpern, Edmunds, Vallance & Whitty - was if we locked down in mid-March, people would get bored.

Almost 5 months on, we are no closer to getting the truth about who came up with & pushed the concept of #LockdownFatigue
When asked on 9 June, #DavidHalpern says he can’t remember
This is a familiar pattern when trying to to find out how absurd ‘scientific decisions’ were made
Memory loss seems to be becoming increasingly common & it will blight any Public Inquiry.
But we don’t need to wait for an Inquiry.
We have the key answers already.
Each of the many scandals are part of an overarching scandal: the #HerdImmunityScandal
https://t.co/DA4py5I9ni
All the evidence suggests that the govt never “pivoted” away from the #HerdImmunity strategy as the orthodox narrative suggests.
Yes, there was a lockdown but, under lockdown, mitigation & suppression look very similar.
But WHY?
