Dear friends - A friend sent me a link to this photo from #Beirut in the town of #BourjHammoud 3 years ago. Where there was once joy, there is now devastation. By now, you have seen the images & I do not wish to cause more trauma. Lebanon has suffered so much over the years.
The Lebanese-Armenian community has a special place in my ❤️ & in the 🌎 Thank you to all of you who have reached out. Many people out there do not know that Lebanon has been a home to Armenians for generations & after the Armenian Genocide, the embodiment of William Saroyan’s
famous quote has been evident throughout Lebanon. They always find a way to laugh, sing & pray again. Over the years, I have been warmly embraced by the beautiful Armenian community from Lebanon & the Lebanese people in general.
They have welcomed me into their homes, their lives & so many of these special people are family to me. They are suffering so please join me in sending support & calling on others to also join our effort. There are many links to wonderful organizations circulating so please do
what makes the most sense for you. Here are a few suggestions: The @agbu had already been organizing humanitarian relief for the Armenian community in Beirut prior to this tragedy & the dedicated volunteers & staff have already jumped into action to do more:
