Trump ban of #TikTok & #WeChat has opened the Pandora box. It has created a precedent for all countries to be able to ban US social media apps on national security ground. It's widely publicized & acknowledged that Microsoft Google Facebook collaborate 1/6

closely with US government and turn over all user data on demand. Facebook goes further to spy on users itself and report to US intelligence.

Security concern re. US apps is more than justified with overwhelming proof provided by Snowden.2/6

In 2009, all US apps were operating in China. They promoted color revolution and terrorism, in particular glorifying Xinjiang #Uighur terrorists as freedom fighters. These apps withdrew from China market voluntarily for not wanting to comply with China's national security law3/6

Not the case for #TikTok which locates its servers locally and employs locals to run the company abroad, entirely insulate from its China operation. Tiktok has no dealings with the Chinese government over user data.

Given US long arm jurisdiction, any citizen using an US app 4/6

could be judged by a US court based on data collected from its social media, US apps pose real personal security threat. Soon countries would want to ban US apps as a result of its blatant violation of personal privacy.

China could provide technical consultation 5/6

re. a local or regional app storing data locally, using local employees thus creating jobs. An app which complies fully with national security laws rendering color revolutions impossible thus contributing to world peace. Trump ban maybe the beginning of the end of US apps. 6/6
