You don't "make someone aim high" by coercive restrictions. That is a colonial state trying to "fix" people. And it doesn't work.
At the same time the govt produces millions of unemployable graduates.
These colonial policies are driven by "shame" about Indian culture and the need to "civilize" the natives.
"Child marriage" was used to attack Hindu culture by the British, but even this critique of it admitted that early marriage *reduced* assaults.

Moronic argument. Younger unmarried girls will just be kidnapped and in a society suffused with porn you think they will delay sexual gratification till 21?
They'll become targets or elope with live-in relationship. Will only constrain law-abiding Hindus.

It is obvious that increasing marriage age will lead to more pre-marital sex, unwanted pregnancies and single mothers.
Is this the Western model of "development" that Govt of India wants to push, at a time when India already has among the highest age of marriage in the world?
