Night three!
Gavel down. Game on.
GOVERNOR TONY EVERS!
"Kindness, respect, empathy, and civility": @GovEvers knows it when he sees it, because he lives it.
"Holy mackerel, folks. Let's get to work."
Four years ago, Scott Walker—a failed presidential candidate—was governor of Wisconsin, determined to suppress the vote. Today, we've got a pro-democracy governor in Wisconsin. This fall, we WILL vote. And we're going to win.
Love seeing @KamalaHarris backstage! Make your plan to vote, folks.
Tonight's host... @kerrywashington!
SUCH a lineup tonight
Honestly, it's disgraceful that the major broadcast networks are only carrying one hour from each night's two-hour program.
Watching @Emma4Change, sitting next to my eight-year-old son, who has had to do active shooter drills at two successive schools and came with me to the March For Our Lives. Has never forgotten it. Neither will I.
This is wrenching. Real.
What an extraordinary movement that made this moment possible.
A sea of tragedy.
Untold thousands of people turning pain into hope.
Did you know Joe Biden introduced one of the first climate bills in Congress—in 1986? I didn't either. Now we both do. Pretty great.
Environmental justice. Climate justice. #ClimateStrike.
"When Donald Trump thinks about climate change, the only word he can muster is 'hoax.' When I think about climate change, the word I think of is 'jobs.'" – @JoeBiden
"...union jobs. Like mine." Great moment.
Seymour, Wisconsin wants climate justice. Farmers can be part of the climate solution. A powerful voice to hear.
Youth climate activists on TV: "Are you ready to vote for @JoeBiden? Are you ready to solve the climate crisis?"
The asthmatic eight-year-old aspiring climate activist leaning his head on my shoulder right now: "We're ready."
"The only way to be certain of the future is to make it ourselves." – @billieeilish
Shout-out to the @OutagamieCoDems, who knocked on tons of doors and signed up tons of Democratic volunteers in Seymour, Wisconsin in 2019—setting set the stage for a blue 2020.
"Every day that passes, you deport more moms and dads, taking them away from kids like me."
"We can never say it often or loudly enough: immigrants and refugees revitalize and renew America. It's not something to take for granted. It's something to cherish, and to fight for." – @BarackObama
If you're wondering "who is singing," the answer is:
As the chair of the @WisDems, I'd be remiss if I didn't invite you to chip in to help tip the tipping-point state towards justice. So I'm going to continue this thread in replies to this tweet:
