Ganpati bappa morya!

वक्रतुण्ड महाकाय सूर्यकोटि समप्रभ।
निर्विघ्नं कुरु मे देव सर्वकार्येषु सर्वदा॥

I bow down to the feet of Lord Ganesha, embodiment of knowledge and wisdom .

Lord Ganesha is connected to ketu in vedic astrology. During amrit manthan, asuras and devas participated in churning the ocean. Vishnu Ji took Mohini avtar and started distributing the amrit among the devatas. An asura named Swarabhanu realised the scheme .

He then disguised himself as a devata and sat between Su and Mo to drink amrit.
Surya and chandra noticed this and informed Lord Vishnu , who cut the head of Swarabhanu with Sudarshan chakra. But,Swarabhanu has already drank few drops of amrit . The head is called Rahu

The body/ trunk is ketu. Since then Rahu and ketu are said to be inmical towards surya and chandra . Rahu is said to eclipse surya .
Lesson: Rahu - illusion/ greed to get something which is not rightfully yours can eclipse ones atma ( surya)

Moon is said to be eclipsed by ketu
Lesson : headless behaviour can lead to afflict ones manas and peace.

The story of birth if Shri Ganesh has an episode where Lord Shiv cuts his head . But after devi Parvati's insistence, he replaced the head with that of a baby elephant.
Lesson: guru when bless us, the same ketu can become the embodiment of wisdom and knowledge. (Ju-ke)

Ketu is said to bring seperation, detachment, obstacles and problems in the bhava matters it is placed and in the karakatwa of the planets it is conjoined with.
Another story of ganesha depicts while writing Mahabharata ,his quill broke

Lord Ganesha replaced the quill by breaking his tusk and using the broken tusk for writing .
Lesson: Positive ketu can also give extreme focus / concentration towards a matter .

In another story, lord Ganesha and Lord Kartikeya were fighting over a special fruit. To settle the fight, Lord Shiva sets a competetion and ask that whosoever will circumvent the world three times and reach first will be given the fruit.

Lord Kartikeya scooted fast on his peacock while Ganesha thought about it and did three pradikshna of shiva-parvati. This pleased Lord Shiva and he granted lord Ganesha, the status of pratham-pujya .
Lesson: Positive ketu with wisdom can grant one complete devotion

And therefore great respect in society. Lord Ganesha is also called Riddhi Siddhi daata .
Lesson- a good ketu is capable of granting all around gains .

Transit of ketu over the planets /bhava is said to cause problems in the matters of that grah/ bhava. However what is rarely known is that Jupiter can control the negative of such a ketu in transit.
Ketu is also "dhwaja" and therefore is capable of granting status.

There are many more stories which I wanted to write . But this thread is already long enough 😊 There is beautiful esoteric significance of the Ganesha birth story. Will write some other time. With this,
