Knowledge is power.
This means the key to skin success/goals is to know and understand what your skin is all about.

Do you feel me? Okay, let me break it down.

Can you service a car if you don't understand the engine?

Same way, if you don't know your skin type and what your skin is all about, it will be like pouring brake oil in the radiator and you will be wondering why the car is overheating ...#egetwhy

Today's post is about the difference between men's skins and women's skin.

You should know that besides having facial hair, there are some differences between a man's skin and a woman's skin. These are the ways:

1. A man's skin is 25% thicker than a woman's skin because of a hormone (testosterone) produced in men.

2. In addition to being thicker, a man's skin texture is tougher.

3. Men also have longer-lasting acne because sebum (oil) production is greater in males than females and they have oilier skin. This is attributed to male hormone secretions.

Male hormones are also partly responsible for why women with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) produce more oil and have more acne than other women.

4. Regardless of age, men have a higher collagen density than women.

We know collagen content is directly related to the signs of skin aging, and this is why it has been said a woman's skin is about 15 years older than a man's of the same age. But this "15 year" skin age difference is not readily noticed men are more exposed to the sun

and do not use sunscreen.

5. Regular Shaving
Shaving the skin is a form of intense exfoliation (removal of the outer skin layers). This can can lead to a more youthful skin and men do this a lot, giving them an edge over women.

But shaving can also irritate skin and lead to more ingrown hairs or bumps if you're not careful.

It's a good idea to change your razor blade every 3-4 uses if you shave often, or whenever your razor starts pulling, nicking or rusting.

This will help ensure your razor stays sharp for a closer, more accurate shave. To prolong the life of your razor, dry it off after you shave and avoid storing it in a wet shower.
