Gov. Whitmer starting this press conference making a public plea for Michigan residents to get vaccinated for the flu, especially educators and college students.
DHHS is launching a public campaign to get 4.3 million of Michigan's 10 million residents vaccinated for seasonal flu.
Last year, there were 3 million vaccinations.
@GovWhitmer is going to get her flu shot at the end of today's press conference.
"The COVID-19 pandemic is still a real threat," to public health and Michigan's economy, @GovWhitmer says.

NEW: @DrKhaldun says @MichiganHHS will begin publishing details about coronavirus *outbreaks in Michigan on a weekly basis.
There were 70 outbreaks last week.
*Outbreaks are defined as being two or more new cases linked together.
Brian Peters, CEO of the Michigan Health & Hospital Association, says hospitals are concerned about a 2nd wave of #COVID19 coinciding with an outbreak of the seasonal flu (many of the same symptoms).
"In that scenario, many of our hospitals could potentially fill to capacity."
