awarded Head of State Commendation (HSC). /1

I remember it was in 2014 when I was called and challenged by the
then Director of DCI Mr. Ndegwa Muhoro to bring to book the people involved in an incident captured on a 59 seconds video that went viral. /2

The video showed a young woman being sexually assaulted by a group of men inside a Githurai bound
Matatu. We didn’t have an idea of who the young woman was and we didn’t have any report made at any police station. /3

After a lengthy trial the case was finalized and the culprits sentenced to hang for robbery with violence.
They also got 25 years imprisonment for sexual assault.
I believe this acted as a deterrent measure since such cases have not recurred again.
