WHAT TO DO IF YOUR SKINCARE ISN'T WORKING: #skinherball

[If you see this tweet, please kindly retweet]

I actually understand what's like to live in Nigeria alongside the weather inconsistency mixed with stress and these have a very damaging effect on your health and skin.

1. Weather change, sweats, stress, over exfoliating, over hydrating, and on top of all these,

You make wrong diet choices. That's unfair and that's one reason why your acnes, eczema, whiteheads, hyperpigmentation, uneven skin tone, etc, has and will refuse to depart from your skin.

2. You should take a skin fast sometimes.
Skin fast is simply staying away from all that rigorous Skincare activity for sometime and letting your skin heal. Your skin needs to breathe and you might be choking it with your enthusiastic activities. Simply stick to

Only the basics of Skincare routines, which is, cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen.

If you have dry skin, moisturizer and sunscreen are most important.

3. You should apply a lot of sunscreen, not at once but a lot at the end of the day.
Apply every two to five hours.

But one little hindrance is that most sunscreen leave a white cast on your face and that alone might kill your motivation in applying them because honestly those white cast aren't nice. So i recommend @cerave's hydrating mineral sunscreen.

It's light weight, doesn't feel greasy, and contains niacinamide which reduces inflammation, which may help ease redness from eczema, acne, and other inflammatory skin conditions. Minimizes pore appearance too.

4. Stop your treatments, stop Exfoliation, retinols, scrubs, skin glowing products. Stop all the over hauling, and give ur skin sometime. Allow it focus on healing.

5. Reduce cleansing. Cleanse at least once daily and at most twice.

If your skin is sensitive

Especially, you shouldn't joke with this thread. Although it addresses all skin types going through several conditions.

Give it just two weeks, and you will see the difference. I hope you stay safe and I hope you have fun as well.
