After due considerations & keeping the safety of our citizens in mind, as per MHA’s #Unlock4 Guidelines, Hon’ble Housing & Urban Affairs Minister released SOP for safe commuting via metro rails today. It will open services in a calibrated manner after a period of 5 & half months.

Masks will be compulsory for all travellers at all times & they are advised to carry sanitizer bottles with them. Sanitizers will also be provided at all stations from metro authorities & masks will be available at higher cost at the stations.

Travellers are advised to maintain proper social distancing & as a thorough practice, platforms will be marked as per social distancing norms. Crowding will be strictly prohibited anywhere inside the trains, station areas.

Trains will not halt at stations if all regulations & norms are not being followed by commuters. Police personnel will be deployed at station areas like before & thermal scanning will be carried out for all employees & travellers.

The frequency of trains will now be 5-7 mins which will include the time for disinfection of trains at each turn over. The operations beginning 7 September 2020 will be reviewed for a week & then further revisions will be decided.

All States/cities where Metro Rails are functional will begin operations from 7 September except Maharashtra which has MahaMetro in Nagpur & Mumbai Metro Line-1 & Mono Rail.
These will resume services in October or as & when deemed fit by the State government.
