Have to call out Aditya Mani Jha. I wrote a few book reviews while he worked at the Sunday Guardian. Used to pitch my book choices &reviews to his boss &him. Later, as happened with many in media (over political views), he distanced himself, blocked me &spread canards &lies.
Let me explain the extent of this passive harassment via slanders - he confessed right here on Twitter how he ganged up against me with several of his editorial friends to ensure i don’t get published. I didn’t respond because it was &still is a royal waste of my time &mind space
Aditya has extended his petty one sided fight to a shoddy write up in @firstpost &maligned the reputation of my book. I challenge him to prove that in our book we have ‘conflated’ the identities of Bangladeshi Muslims &Muslims speaking Bangla in Assam. He needs to be called out.
On a topic as sensitive &nuanced as cross border migration &its implications in Assam &the rest of NE India, a randomly influential reader in some random literary circles Delhi, who nurses an inexplicable complex, will not be allowed to get away with a one line lie about my book.
I request editors at @firstpost to please note that unsubstantiated allegations by writers you give space to don’t match up to the good reputation you enjoy as a team. I request you to take note of the noxious slander campaign being launched & furnish proof of what’s being said.
