New Hampshire and Rhode Island are holding House and Senate primaries today.
2nd term New Hampshire Democratic Senator Jeanne Shaheen faces primary challengers today. And in #NHSen Republican primary, several candidates are running to advance to November election including Bryant “Corky” Messner who was endorsed by President Trump.
1st term #NH01 Democratic Rep. Chris Pappas will face the winner of today's 5-candidate Republican primary which includes Matt Mayberry and Matt Mowers who was endorsed by President Trump. Pappas first won election to House in 2018 with 53.6% of the vote.
4th term #NH02 Democratic Ann McLane Kuster faces primary challenger Joseph Mirzoeff today and 4 candidates are running in GOP primary including 2018 nominee Steven Negron to advance to fall election. Kuster won reelection to Nashua/Concord House seat in 2018 w/55.6% of the vote.
In Rhode Island, 4th term Democratic Senator Jack Reed, Armed Services Cmte Ranking Member, and #RISen Republican challenger Allen Waters are both unopposed in their primaries today. Reed last won reelection to the Senate in 2014 with 70.6% of the vote.
5th term #RI01 Democratic Rep. David Cicilline, chair of Democratic Policy and Communications Cmte, is unopposed in Democratic primary and has no GOP opponent in fall election.Cicilline, who is also running for Assistant Speaker, was elected to House in 2018 w/66.7% of the vote.
10th term #RI02 Democratic Rep. Jim Langevin faces primary challenger Dylan Conley today. Winner of GOP primary btwn fmr RI state Rep. Bob Lancia & 2012 candidate Donald Robbio will also advance to fall election. Langevin last won reelection to House in 2018 w/63.5% of the vote.
