Life-Size basaltic sculpture of Goddess Ganga. Everything has been sculptes to perfection whether be it eyebrows, fingernails to the nose. Records mention that
the inscription above the idol on
the wall, names it as "Ganga' in
Sangam Tamizh.

Another beautifully sculpted idol discovered at #DarasuramAirateswarTemple is
that of Goddess Saraswati replete
with minute detailing- the ribs
& toenails could also be
seen carved. However, the
stringed instrument Veena that is
a staple and associated with her is
missing.

Shiva-Parvati sculpture is
indeed very alluring. It captures
one of those rare moments when
usually high-tempered GodShiva is persuading & cajoling
dejected Parvati with Devi Ganga in his other hand'

Expression of surrender & shyness on Goddess Parvati's is clearly visible.
