Trump was very open on April 1, as he was with Woodward, that he whitewashed the seriousness of the issue because he did not want to cause panic. There was an entire news cycle with headlines like, “Trump just acknowledged downplaying the coronavirus threat."

Yet reporter Bernstein, Woodward’s Watergate colleague, is out there claiming the newly released tapes from Feb, April, and May are supposedly worse than the Nixon tapes, which is impressive for a twice-baked story.

Woodward knew what every man, woman, and child in the country who was paying attention to the President knew that the coronavirus was serious but the President was openly cheerleading the nation through a tough time.
