Studying International Relations or Diplomacy or IRD in its entirety is DIFFERENT from being a diplomat. The challenge is, the lack of training within this field has forced Presidents to appoint (95% of most instances) military personnel because of their ethics and discipline;⤵️

Fostering foreign relations isn't a walk in the park.
1. You need to have a full comprehension of your country's foreign policies on various sectors/markets;
2. You NEED to be multi-lingual. English is NOT enough. You need to learn French, Portuguese, Spanish as basic;

If you can't learn them, have a basic understanding thereof, ESPECIALLY FRENCH.

Many MANY diplomats have escaped traps, avoided diplomatic wars and have escaped attempts on their lives from understanding a foreign language whilst pretending not to understand the language;

3. Political and emotional intelligence is a MUST. Many diplomats have ruined their nation's bilateral agreements from lack of self-control. Remember, diplomatic feuds are silent and they drag, at the expense of the citizens;

4. Diplomats, true diplomats make and take decisions that benefits their countries and NOT themselves or their relatives. It's all about growing and building THE STATE!

5. Have basic training in profiling. The body language NEVER lies. You'll be amazed at how the body and the mouth can disagree in full view of everyone; it depends on how well you understand body language. Diplomats are the deadliest profilers there EVER existed. The End!
