I have often noticed products that have won @reddot design awards, but never before examined these awards.

But I am about to order cable internet for my new flat, and the @vodafone_de default modem router won an award in 2018.

Or did it?

First problem: what router is that exactly?

Vodafone calls it a "Vodafone Station"

But it is actually an Arris Touchstone TG3442DE or a Technicolor CGA4233DE (manuals for both are on the Vodafone site)

Caveat here: Vodafone seems to be distributing two technically different modems, manufactured by *different* firms, in pretty much the same casing - see these pics, and note different model numbers and power button locations:

internetanbieter.de/wp-content/upl…

Anyway, back to Red Dot.

What do you get when you check these on the Red Dot site? (searching using Google as the search on the Red Dot site is weird)

*Nothing*

Also if you simply search for "Vodafone" on the Red Dot site you get *other* products of Vodafone's that have won:
google.de/search?sxsrf=A…

Searching "unitymedia" or "Kabel Deutschland" (companies Vodafone has acquired) is likewise useless.

What's going on here?

@reddot did either of these routers ever win an award? If so, why no info on your site?

Or @vodafone_de are you stretching the truth here, in that *other* products of yours did win, but this router did not win?

Some clarification would be very welcome!
