Three more Iowans have died from coronavirus, pushing Iowa's total to 1,208 since the first death on March 24.

Deaths were reported in Linn (2) and Howard Counties - COVID-19 has now killed 100 residents in Linn County.

Hospitalizations in Iowa were down to 281, which is the right direction, but intensive care patients were only down two to 83 on a day when three more deaths were reported.

There were 27 new admissions to Iowa hospitals for COVID-19 in the last 24-hour reporting period.

Between 10 am on Sept. 10 and 10 am on Sept. 11, there were 798 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Iowa, pushing total cases to 72,754.

Subtracting deaths (1,208) and "recoveries" (52,291), there are 19,255 active cases in Iowa - 5th day in a row over 19,000, 2nd highest yet.

The 798 new cases were confirmed on 6,018 new tests reported (from 683,209 to 689,227) for a rate of tests showing COVID-19 of 13.3%.

The state is scheduled to update the number of Iowa kids under age 18 who have tested positive at 11 a.m. That number is currently 5,272.

The 77 counties where Gov. Reynolds first loosened Iowa's limited restrictions May 1 without an alternative safety plan were up 402 new cases for total of 27,023.

One more death (Howard) was reported for a total of 392.

As of April 30, they had 559 total cases and 11 deaths.

Range of tests: Adams was up 1 on 2 tests (50.0%) while Cass was up 1 on 27 tests (3.7%).

Overall, 68 of the 77 counties had new cases reported.

No new cases: Audubon, Fremont, Greene, Howard, Monona, Montgomery, Taylor, Van Buren, Wayne.

Best day in the state: Van Buren was up 0 new cases on 22 tests.

Least testing: Adams was up 1 on 2 tests (50.0%).
