I have gotten a few messages assuming that I was part of the @officialNESG team that developed the 15-paragraph publication on the matters that require urgent attention.

While I fully endorse ALL the points raised in that publication, I am not a member of NESG.

Apparently because of my comments on social media and in 3 online events during the week, some of my friends believed that I was too sympathetic to the @officialNESG publication and that I must have been part of it.

Technically, they have classified me as a #Wailing Nigerians🤣

I love NESG’s objectives and I have
made three UNSUCCESSFUL attempts in the past to join @officialNESG but they have other priorities.

MAYBE they prefer people with titles like MD/GCEO as prospective members.🤣🤣🤣.

For my friends like @TosinOlugbenga who is not familiar with @officialNESG - it actually signals something positive.

For me, it means that NESG was almost falling into comatose but has now resurrected.

@officialNESG is a private sector think-tank committed to the promotion and development of the Nigerian economy into an open, inclusive, sustainable and globally competitive economy.

@officialNESG is the most notable platform for public-private dialogue in Nigeria, especially when it comes to policy issues across various sectors.

I don’t want to talk about whether @officialNESG is technically replacing the Chambers of Commerces (which we have gradually turned into Owambe clubs) in various cities 😀.

Anyway, nature does not tolerate vacuums. #FEM 🤣🤣🤣

The flagship of the NESG’s advocacy efforts is the annual Nigerian Economic Summit (NES), which provides government and private sector an opportunity to review the progress made in our economic reforms effort.

The NES events are like the #WEF events, but with the Nigerian flavour. But, @officialNESG needs to be more engaging and involved so that NESG does not become one of the #Owambe groups from the private sector.
