[1/9] As part of our 2020 ad tracker project, here is a break down of the worst #DogWhistleAd of the week.

[2/9] Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC), a PAC that focuses on State legislative races, is continuing to stitch together fear-mongering around anti-racist protests with an anti-immigrant message with attack ads against Georgia House Minority Leader Bob Trammell.
[3/9] This week, the RSLC launched radio and TV ads. Their radio ad attempts to draw a line of fear of the non-white other from Trammell’s alleged support for BLM to a staged vote banning local governments from hiring undocumented workers.
[4/9] In the radio ad an ominous voiceover says: “He sides with the rioters tearing America apart... puts his liberal politics over safety, so it’s no wonder Trammell voted against the law that would stop local governments from hiring illegal immigrants.”
[5/9] The racism continues as the ad states, “In these tough times, we should ensure that every taxpayer-funded job goes to legal citizens...Trammell: coming after your guns and paying illegal immigrants with your tax dollars while putting our safety at risk.”
[6/9] Meanwhile the RSLC’s racist dog-whistle TV ad tries to depict Georgia in a state of chaos because of anti-racist protests while the voiceover says, “We know who lawyer, politician, Bob Trammell stands with, and it’s not us.”
[7/9] The message of these ads is relatively obvious and is clearly an attack on Black Americans and undocumented immigrants, painting both groups as inherently dangerous.
[8/9] This false and coded racist message presents no real solutions for creating good-paying jobs, keeping neighborhoods safe, or working to bring people together to work for equality and justice. It's just division for the personal benefit of a few.
[9/9] This poison pill hurts us all, including the White voters these ads are trying to scare into the ballot box. Only if we come together across racial lines will we have the power to demand a U.S. that works for #AllOfUs.
