In the interest of Justice and due process, @SIAF_NG is strongly recommending to the legal counsels of @DrOlufunmilayo in Lagos, to demand for the Release Warrant of Ms Bola Aseyan as well as the Certified True Copy of the Rule Order & the truth will be revealed. #PlotTwist
Going by our monitoring of the investigation that started weeks ago, Ms Aseyan can not truthfully claim that her rights were infringed upon by the Police at any point, given that she kept pulling tricks and jumping bail conditions each time she’s granted the benefit of the doubt.
Some may argue that the DG of OPD is a lawyer and can represent the vulnerable in society but this may not be what it seems from the perspective of those of us in the trenches. There are hundreds of indiscriminate raids in Lagos per week & not once have we seen OPD’s response.
I am talking about a period ranging from 4years who till date. There is a case of a young man rotting in prison custody over an alleged robbery he knew nothing about because he couldn’t afford a Lawyer & the rogue police had their way in 2016. No pulse from the OPD.
Within the Criminal Justice System in Lagos, it has been widely observed that the DG of the OPD has a penchant for interfering in matters, while truncating due process & that notion may be playing out here. Can a Lawyer stand as a surety? Is he a relative to the accused?
Was the accused not duly represented by two lawyers since the investigation started weeks ago? We know how beleaguered @followlasg is in terms of diverse administrative challenges & it will be sad if Governor @jidesanwoolu get dragged into this because of an unethical officer.
It must be stated that the a police know She is a flight risk. She absquatulated to Nigeria from the UK after realizing her character assassination had hit a brick wall & jumped bail severally during Police investigation. If she fails to show up the DG of OPD will go to jail.
The investigation started on the 10th of August 2020 and was charged to court on the 10th of September, 2020. Never did she tweet about police harassment or oppression but BBNaija because she wasn’t harassed we were monitoring all along. This is just another distraction by the DG
