I had never heard of Peter Burnett's "Lash Law" which allowed for the public beating of Black people for being in the Oregon Territory.
This place was built on evil and they want to go back to "normal".
Walidah also said to look up "Bleeding Albina" for history on Portland's gentrification, so I'm leaving that here.
