Okay. A thread on life lessons based on Genghis Khan’s life.
1. Make loyal allies- First thing he did in his life was to make equally powerful allies w/ a common goal. You can never have allies who have different goals. Avoid calling those people your allies & including them

in your schemes. His first allies were one of his childhood friend & an old powerful Chief. To make an ally he married the daughter of the chief & served as his military chief.

2. Leave when you have to- in initial days of his conquest, Genghis was near a forest & he came to

know that he will be attacked. He had a good force with him. His enemies sent words of insults to him. An average warrior in ego would have waited for attack & fought till death. But Genghis was aware that forest warfare is not his niche & decided to leave. Army was confused

& some even thought Khan is a coward but he didn’t care. He saved his own life & his army’s life. For 3 days whole camp was lifted & moved to an open place. He continued to gain allies & finally after 2 years he killed the enemies who were sure to kill him in forest. This is

a great quality of leaders. To take a back step. Shivaji also did that to save himself & his warriors. Proud men commit mistake to ignore this & die.

3. Close friends- Khan always loved his close friends & kept them close. Gave him luxury equal to his own self & ate w/ them

when he didn’t even need them. Some of them were not able to fight but still he kept them always with him. These habits showed his large heart to his huge armies & people always wanted to make such deep friendships with him. His benevolence to his friends always helped him.

4. Pay heed to advices- Most leaders ignore their advisors but Khan always let them speak freely in his company. Sometimes the arguments w/ him & his ministers were so heated up that he left the tents shouting at ministers. But he always listened & ACTED on advices whether

he liked them or not. This always made a realistic analysis possible in his military campaigns.

5. Loyal relatives- For 3-4 times he fought the wars in which he had nothing to do but he did it for his relatives. This earned him most loyal relatives. We often ignore our

relatives & make fun of them. We ignore our blood relations. Due to these acts of Khan, his relatives always came to support him for his wars.

6. Create spy network- This one is most interesting. Once Allies of Khan who were not happy with his increasing power & wr planning

to assassinate him by calling him to a meeting. 2 slaves of their camp overheard the conversations of their masters & immediately went to Khan. They told him about the whole plan because they liked Khan for his great behaviour with his loyal people. Khan verified their words

& Killed the conspirators. Then in front of his whole army, he freed those 2 slaves, gave them land & made them lords, gave them hundreds of cattle, horses, gold, hide & exempted them from taxes for the whole lifetime of those slaves & their upcoming 2 generationsSuch great

gesture in rewarding those slaves created a huge name for Khan & loads of valuable information reached his camp every day! The spy network he created like this always helped him for whole life. Treat well-wishers nicely for their info & create spy network.
