@justinmadders
Not just 185k swab backlog.
They DO have void rates-They are bad in some labs
Not just Randox “disposing” of 12k swabs in A SINGLE DAY.

Not just Randox voiding 35k kits in AUGUST (they are still using Randox after all the recalls⁉️)

On top of the 5 mill missing

Just to act as a reminder of the 5 million

@jneill @_johnbye @chrischirp

See above re swab backlog leaked report

This from epidemiologist Bill Hanage.

Also you will see in the Times story Several Serious Incidents flagged.

So they DO HAVE THEM recorded. How many since inception? How many root cause analysis?

Let’s look more closely at the report summary which reveals how much more data they collect than publish.

Look! VOIDs. See next photo to see the extent of the variation.

Likely has come down since June (when the @ShaunLintern reports suggested low in some labs, 20-40% in others). Several months astonishing still over 8% in some labs. Even over 1%.

Poor internal & external QA?

Unlike Manchester, Randox and Glasgow - Some labs have low Voids - 2 under 1%
3 under 2%

What was the historical data? To what extent does this account for the missing 5 million plus by 9/8/20?

We need a “Come to Jesus” moment.

Well. It is Sunday!

See. 11 Live Severe incidents. 3 different levels.

How many have there been from the start.

Where are the Root Cause Analysis?

It is a good thing that they are flagged, recorded

But what are the lessons learned?

And why are we still using badly performing labs?

As we have been pointing out.

Most UK laboratories are clearing fewer tests than their capacity, as they are hit by “chaos” in supply chains, per the leak

The govt claims it has capacity for 375k tests a day

Actual number of people being tested for CV is closer to 62k a day

And with the new published data yesterday in the dashboard, by downloading the spreadsheet data @_johnbye was able to throw some more light on it.

I wonder how much Pillar 2 capacity has been diverted for Pillar 4 ONS/ Study testing (eg this one commissioned by DHSC)?

The dashboard indicates that tests processed have pretty consistently exceeded capacity for weeks rather than the odd day.

Thread from @JenWilliamsMEN suggest that labs staffed in part by students is part of the problem as they return to University.

This can hardly have been an unforeseen issue.

They have reagents
