The Encourager Also Needs Encouragement!
#Thread

Yesterday, I dropped a tweet and a message on my story telling us how draining my last weeks has been, I received heartwarming messages and some calls. Wawu💃

I was really glad to see that we also care for those who are there to encourage us spiritually and mentally.

Do you know they also become weak and tired? We expect them to help us when we are in need, encourage us when we are weak, stay by us when we are sick, feed us when we are hungry but we forget that they are also humans, they eat food too, they become weak too, they become sick too

I heard a story of a young man who was always there in church, serving God, going for missionary trips, helping the poor, supporting the widows, buying medications to the sick.

He spent all he had on the people, took all his time to feed the sheep but he forgot to rest, he wanted to be there for others but forgot his health, he was feeding others but he forgot to eat.

One day, he fell seriously sick, no doubts God is able to heal him but he needed someone to help him with chores, cook food for him, but no one cared. What a pity! They didn't see him in church for 2 weeks and no one asked, no one visited, everyone went on,

some others felt he had backslided, some thought he traveled, no one cared to know his welfare because they felt he had all, he had all the strength, he can't become weak. Is he not human?

After one month, he died in his room, his neighbors who tried to show concern didn't hear from him for days so they decided to check his room only to find his dead body😢 the information was sent to the church with the story of how terribly sick he was before he died.

Everyone was shocked because they expected more, they felt he didn't need care, concern or encouragement from them since he was always there for them. So sad but this is how so many of us act😶
We always go to our pastors, expecting prayers, food, encouragement and help.

What about them? Don't they eat, don't they also fall sick or get discouraged at one point or the other? Do you think they don't need help?

Instead you crucify and criticize them for the little mistakes they make, you gossip about them instead of praying for them and if eventually they backslide, you will still be the one to condemn them! Is this the brotherly love we should show?

If you read through the epistles of Apostle Paul, you will see where he took time to thank those who showed care towards him and always reminded to pray for him or his fellow labourers! Even Jesus had friends, people who showed concern and care towards Him!

No matter how strong you think ministers are they cry too, they get tired too, they get sick too, they need ENCOURAGEMENTS too. If Jesus could wish the cup of dying on the cross should be taken from Him, why do you think those people feeding you cannot get hungry too?

There is always a way to encourage those who are there for you spiritually, those who teach you, those who support and help you, whether they are your parents or not. It doesn't matter how you encourage them, just make sure you are PRAYING for them at least.

To pastors/ministers, please learn to rest! learn to rest! Please rest! Please rest! Don't go hungry as you feed others, don't be left uncared for as you care for others! Please take care of yourself, please! Please!

The work of God will still continue after you, make sure you don't break down in the middle of your mission, please find time to refuel, find time to rest, find time to eat, find time to sleep.

As God strengthens you, He will also provide those who will support you, be sensitive enough to know those that has been sent to help you and those that has been sent to drain you!

Fam, be an encourager, not a critic, not a gossipser, not a drainer! Be there for those who are there for you. Send words of goodwill to people not words that will break them. I hope this sinks, I hope we learn this! Calm down and be used by God❤
