The Golden Age...

A term (i suppose) well known by most of us. So why mention it? What really defines a ''Golden Age''?

Let's start with one important notion: The worldview of our ancestors was cyclic, but at the same time, one aspect of achieving a spiritual rebirth was to grasp the nature of time. What truly is ''time'', you might ask.

Time, in reality, does not exist, but it is rather a projection of our understanding of the world by ''past, present & future''. The universe exists in a state of timelessness. It is Eternity expressing itself.

Veles (the progenitor, chthonic force & ancestral spirit) represents (among other things) our perception of time. That is why he holds a thrice nature & is also called Triglav & Troyan - the union of the past, present & future.

He is mythicaly slain by Perun (the descendant, initiate & eternal fiery essence). In this way, the illusion of time as an ultimate force is defeated, the initiate transcends it & understands Eternity.

This is enlightenment.

A fair assumption would be that we, as people that are connected to their forebears, tend to look into the past with awe & a sense of ''nostalgia''. It is completely natural & many might even look back to their definition of a Golden Age.

Yet, having understood the nature of reality & time, you should come to this conclusion: The one who only defines himself by past events & looks for cause there is like a dog chasing its tail (somewhat quoting Alan Watts).

As said earlier, we exist in a sense of timelessness. What is seemingly buried by the ''Past'', can, to a big extent, be embraced in the Moment. Life is an object of change & although things will never be exactly the same, the essence remains.

Needless to say, monotheistic religions & civilization greatly distorted our understanding of life. Cities, greed & ''comfort'' now, more than ever, distract us from our true selves, from following the perpetual pulse of Nature.

Yet, deep into the woods & the Earth's realm, away from everything ''modern'', untouched by harmful influence, lies that same sense of Eternity, existing in accordance with the universe as it always has - a true form of Golden Age,...

...One that never ended - we just stirred away from it, but within each of us lies the potential to take a step into the long journey - a return home.
