Chris Roberts: Star Citizen gameplay 'is not a pipe dream' pcgamer.com/chris-roberts-…

That article is based on a salty post update apparently by Chris Roberts. But they totally missed the juicy parts. Read for yourself. It’s the usual bs, but here’s what most people have missed. He said:

robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/commu…

"We are on track to have over one million unique players this year”

Well, a backer just came up with a script which seems to indicate that there are really only $600K backers (who put any money into the project).

reddit.com/r/starcitizen/…

"It means that majority of funding comes from existing backers and concierge buying ships, not from new game sales. You can see how much backer count rises every day and how much funding rises per same day - new backers are insignificant value."

"If we take 3000 as the average contribution level per concierge, that would amount for ~50% of the funding from concierge and leave everyone else with two to three ships smaller ships on average. Which sounds reasonable"

That puts the "one million unique players" in perspective

Then there's this:

So he confirms the projects are currently in "early alpha state" - almost 10 yrs (Nov 2021) later.

This whole thing is just one massive lol riot now, even as it continues to beggar belief.

Meanwhile over there, someone responded to his latest diatribe. It’s hilarious.
