Twelve more Iowans have died from COVID-19, pushing Iowa's total to 1,233 since first death on March 24.
Deaths were reported in Black Hawk, Boone, Clinton, Dubuque, Emmet, Jackson, Jasper, Johnson, Linn, Polk, Scott, and Wapello Counties.

On a day when 12 more Iowans have died from COVID-19, hospitalizations were up by 12 to 284, including 74 in intensive care units.
There were 36 new admissions to Iowa hospitals in the last 24-hour reporting period.
This is going in the wrong direction!
Between Sept. 14 at 10 am and Sept. 15 at 10 am, there were 508 new cases of COVID-19 reported, pushing Iowa's total to 75,275.
Subtracting deaths (1,233) and "recoveries" (54,257), there are now 19,785 active cases - the third highest number yet - one out of every 160 Iowans!
The 508 new cases were confirmed on 3,504 new tests reported (from 703,682 to 707,186), for a rate showing COVID-19 of 14.5%.
The state is scheduled to update the number of Iowa kids under age 18 who have tested positive for coronavirus at 11 am. That number stands at 5,607.
The 77 counties where Gov. Reynolds first loosened Iowa's limited restrictions May 1, without an alternative safety plan, were up 235 new cases for total of 28,178.
They had 5 more deaths reported for total of 404.
As of April 30, they had 559 total cases and 11 total deaths.

No new cases: Adams, Audubon, Cass, Cedar, Crawford, Davis, Dickinson, Floyd, Hancock, Harrison, Jefferson, Madison, Mills, Mitchell, Montgomery, Pocahontas, Pottawattamie, Ringgold, Shelby, Taylor, and Van Buren, while Emmet, Fremont, and Howard were each adjusted down one.
Best day in the 77 counties: Pottawattamie was up 0 on 21 tests.
Best day in the state: Marshall was up 0 on 33 tests.
Least testing: Adams, Fremont, Mills, and Page had 0 new tests reported.

Iowa Dep't of Corrections reports that (Sept. 11 to Sept. 14) 5 more inmates and 1 more staff person tested positive for coronavirus.
That brings totals to 834 (inmates) and 128 (staff).
DOC also reports "active" cases down to 31 for inmates and 18 for staff.
Still too many!

Hold the presses! The state did update website, and is showing that 57 more Iowa kids under age 18 have tested positive for coronavirus, pushing total to 5,664.
That's up 1,126 since Sept. 1.
