GOD WAS ALREADY BIG IN ISAAC!

In my morning devotion today, I read Genesis chapter 22.

We all know the story.
God told Abraham in verse 2:

1

"And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of."

Abraham was obedient. Of course, before now, my concentration or let me say, our concentration has always been on Abraham on how He is the father of faith but little have we also attributed greatness to Isaac's perception about God in the early stage of his life.

As little as Isaac was, in verse 7-8, the Bible had this to say:
7. And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?

8. And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.

and in verse 9, the central focus verse and last Bible reference on my write up, the Bible said:

9. And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.

As little as Isaac was, he already had God big within him.

As little as Isaac was, he already had God big within him. Abraham must have mightily invested in tutoring and growing the knowledge of God in Isaac, such that when he asked where the lamb that was to be used for the sacrifice would come from, ...

he obliged his father's word that God would make the provision.

He didn't argue, he had understood the ways of God and how God works with Abraham, his father. He (Isaac) already made God big within him.

And even after getting to that point where the knife was about going..

straight to his neck, he'd willingly submitted himself for the sacrifice.

At times, after our parents have done enough of tutoring on their path, it's explicitly our responsibility as well to determine how BIG we can all let GOD be within us.
The light of the gospel we have

.. received is the same way every true born child of God received it. But, the consistent workings of these things in us amplifies our parents' success. IT IS NOT ABOUT THE AGE, IT IS NOT ABOUT THE SIZE, IT IS ABOUT TAKING THAT RESPONSIBILITY EARLY IN LIFE.

Let God be big within you! Let God be the central focus of your heart. Let him be the breadwinner of your entirety and that which you seek for, shall in no wise be delayed for thee.
