Eden Cabucos was one of the first nurses to join @WestMidHospital from the Philippines.

"We set off for England to a hospital with a funny name! 20 years later, I don't ever want to leave. There is so much focus on improving the lives of patients and clinicians."

Dr Marjory Warren started her career at @WestMidHospital in 1926 and her work transformed care for older patients, changing geriatric units both in the UK and abroad. In 1988, a new block for older patient care at West Middlesex was fittingly named after her.

During the Second World War, the grounds @WestMidHospital suffered significant damage, especially The Queen Mary Maternity Unit. We have been able to find original photographs of the damage to showcase how our hospital was affected by the Blitz.

West Middlesex has an intriguing historical tie to the Norwegian royal family: during WWII, staff treated Norwegian seamen and lead Nurse Sister Mace was bestowed with the Order of St. Olav by King Haakon of Norway in January 1945!

Many of our staff @WestMidHospital have worked at the hospital throughout their careers, training, graduating, and working to improve patient care.

Pictured is Recruitment Nurse Annette Lloyd, who graduated in 1983, and is still working here now!

Nurses @WestMidHospital continue to go above and beyond when caring for patients - even by baking!

In 1936, Sister Graham produced a huge 50-pound cake for a patient's 100th birthday, decorated with 100 candles as pictured here 🎂

Since 1967, @Radiowestmid has broadcasted live at @WestMidHospital. Technology has changed since, but patients' great music requests remain!

This is a poignant year for the radio station as they celebrate #WESTMID100 and remember their late co-founder Alan Hardy 📻
