I've gotten a ton of messages about the "#WhiteHouseSiege" 50-day protest scheduled to start today.
The organization actually planning this event claims that they've cancelled their event, although their pinned post from only 18 hours ago still promotes it.
A video posted only 15 hours ago on Youtube by the organizers of "#WhiteHouseSiege" also promotes the event, and suggests it will be a jazz music demonstration.
Compare (left) their "tactical briefing" on August 3rd to their most recent (right).
The group definitely seems to be de-escalating their rhetoric ahead of claiming an outright cancellation.
Meanwhile, without getting too into the weeds, I've found that the right seems way more interested in the #WhiteHouseSiege" than the left is, and they have a lot more confidence about it materializing into something real.
(Random recent examples from Twitter screenshotted below)
I plan to keep track of social media and see if anything happens, and otherwise head to the White House in the evening.
Given the pairing of some extreme rhetoric with a claimed cancellation, I'm not sure what to expect. If anything happens, I'll livestream as always.
Some weird mixed messages from the #WhiteHouseSiege people.
Even after cancelling their event this morning, only an hour ago the group posted a video to Youtube promoting it, with a new description.
