Antisemitic wingnut Kate Shemirani was the main speaker at today’s “Resist And Act For Freedom” protest in central London

Looking at the rest of the speakers at yesterday’s anti-lockdown rally: Doloros Cahill is the chair of the hard right Irish Freedom Party, and believes in hydroxychloroquine as a COVID cure

irishtimes.com/news/ireland/i…

Cahill was launched to alt-right fame after being interviewed by Irish YouTuber Dave Cullen, who is so right-wing he thinks Sargon of Akkad is a Marxist

Kevin Corbett is an ex-nurse, not a medical doctor. (His PhD is in Social Sciences, from London South Bank University.) Among his beliefs: that the “dominance of abstract art” is a form of “McCarthyite witch-hunt” and that extra buses for kids is “Nazi”...

...Like the other anti-maskers, Corbett loves to compare public health measures to the Nazi Holocaust (which is a softcore form of Holocaust denial)

...It’s a claim Kate Shemirani has also made thejc.com/news/uk/suspen…

Mark Steele is an ex-convict from Gateshead who has spent the last couple of years harassing local council employees because he believes 5G kills animals

In 2018, Steele it was a speaker for the far right Democrats and Veterans Party on the subject of 5G Networks. He’s also involved with various far right movements in the North East.

Niall McCrae is an activist with the Bruges Group, a far right anti-EU pressure group who support Putin, have links to the LaRouche movement, and think “cultural Marxism” is taking over the world

McCrae gained some notoriety for threatening @Femi_Sorry at a Brexit rally last year theguardian.com/education/2019…

Del Bigtree, appearing via video link, is an anti-vaxx hero

and is also big on Infowars

Other speakers: Mikael Nordfors, Swedish physician who has been investigated for malpractice; Sherri Tenpenny, says MMR causes autism; Andrew Kaufman, natural healer who says vaccination is a form of genetic modification...

The insane pro-Trump conspiracist movement QAnon also had a small presence as the demo again.

The anti-mask movement seems to have hooked up with some semi-mainstream hard right politicians such as ex-UKIP London Assembly member David Kurten

The way that the anti-mask movement links up apolitical people concerned about the virus with the semi-respectable post-UKIP hard right and with outright fascists and antsemitic conspiracy theories and Holocaust deniers is pretty scary, IMHO.
