@TovbEdnGecOlmdn @SalafisUnveiled @Abu_Fatima44 @IbneKhan01 Invoking a creation as a means to seeking the aid of Allah - the POWER & SOURCE of benefit IS istighatha.

Forgive me brother, but I fail to understand the Salafi distinction between tawassul (e.g. using your good deeds = halal) and istighatha (using a wali/prophet = shirk)...

@TovbEdnGecOlmdn @SalafisUnveiled @Abu_Fatima44 @IbneKhan01 ... The wali or prophet is a creation of Allah who has no power or ability.

Your deeds are also Allah’s creation & have no power or ability. “Allah created you and what you do.”

If Salafis say it's shirk to use one powerless creation as a means to Allah (i.e. a prophet)...

@TovbEdnGecOlmdn @SalafisUnveiled @Abu_Fatima44 @IbneKhan01 … then it has to be shirk with the other powerless creation (i.e. your deeds).

Salafis say: istighathah or tawassul with the living is halal because they're “alive, hearing & can fulfil your need” but with a dead person it’s shirk because they can’t hear and are motionless...

@TovbEdnGecOlmdn @SalafisUnveiled @Abu_Fatima44 @IbneKhan01 This statement is actually closer to shirk.

At the very least it exposes a minor shirk in the heart of the Saalfi who believes it. Why? Because the distinction between a living person and a dead person is an illusion based on poor iman and a deficient tawhid…

@TovbEdnGecOlmdn @SalafisUnveiled @Abu_Fatima44 @IbneKhan01 The Salafi thinks that a person walking around, hearing and acting is somehow intrinsically better than someone in the grave, when in reality neither of them possess any power, any hearing or any ability to fulfil anyone’s needs. Rather Allah uses them to fulfil people’s needs…

@TovbEdnGecOlmdn @SalafisUnveiled @Abu_Fatima44 @IbneKhan01 ...by creating hearing in them, creating the ability to act and creating the action that they are doing itself.

Believing that Allah can do this with both those alive in the dunya and those alive in the grave is the very essence of tawhid in Allah’s total power.

@TovbEdnGecOlmdn @SalafisUnveiled @Abu_Fatima44 @IbneKhan01 People who DO NOT know “laa hawla wa laa quwwata illah billah” do not see this, so they accuse true believers of shirk due to a deficiency in their own iman.

I hope you don't mind me pointing all this out, brother. I was just a little concerned that you may have accidentally...

@TovbEdnGecOlmdn @SalafisUnveiled @Abu_Fatima44 @IbneKhan01 ... read Salafi literature and presumed that it was orthodox Sunni belief. The Salafi position leads people to accuse others of shirk. We all know that hadiths: whoever ac-cuses a believer of kufr, the judgment returns to him.

@TovbEdnGecOlmdn @SalafisUnveiled @Abu_Fatima44 @IbneKhan01 So it's a dangerous line to walk.

But I have every reason to believe you are sincere and would never make takfir on another believer. I hope we agree with each other. But otherwise please let me know what you think Sunnis have got wrong, here.

@TovbEdnGecOlmdn @SalafisUnveiled @Abu_Fatima44 @IbneKhan01 A quick footnote: regarding your point here, the dua he quoted does have the expression "Yaa Muhammad". I'm Hanbali and virtually every major Hanbali fiqh text in Kitabul Hajj has this dua as recommended to make when visiting the Prophet's ﷺ tomb.
