My warmest greetings and congratulations on the formal launching of the Malaya Movement in Canada!
Thank you for this opportunity to be a part of your meaningful occasion to tackle the dire state of our nation, raise the level of public discourse, and to stand up for our Filipino ideals and values.
Though you may be far away from our country, I greatly feel your unwavering concern to pursue the needed change for the best interests of our countrymen—to uphold social justice, alleviate poverty, and defend human rights and democracy. Maraming, maraming salamat.
I also want to express my gratitude for your continued support and faith in me.
In the more than 3 years that I have been illegally and unjustly detained, I find courage and strength from co-warriors like you who do not think twice to speak truth to power in ending the tyrannical rule of the vindictive Duterte regime.
There is no doubt: Many Filipinos, here and abroad, have been enlightened with the truth about the incompetence of the Duterte administration in serving our people, especially in times of crisis, as well as in protecting our sovereignty.
We will not allow them to take us for a ride in the remainder of their term; we will not fall for their selfish agenda of setting up a new and dangerous type of government to remain in power.
And, so we will not relent. We will not slacken, confident as we are that our continued resistance and growing solidarity are the wellsprings of hope for our people in our collective struggle to end the culture of impunity...
...and the climate of fear, and to halt the atmosphere of ineptitude that have engulfed our country in the past 4 years.
At hindi tayo titigil hanggang hindi tayo magtagumpay para sa ating bayan at mga kababayan. Kailangan pa nating magparami at magpalakas para tuloy-tuloy na maipanalo ang ating mga laban para sa demokrasya, soberanya, karapatang pantao at matinong pamumuno.
Ang ating pagsasama-sama ngayon at patuloy na pagkakaisa ang magwawakas sa mapaniil na sistema at tuluyang magpapalaya sa mga Pilipino.
Muli, isang malugod na pagbati at mapagpalayang araw sa lahat!###
